At Books at a Steal, our mission is to provide affordable access to books while supporting local families. We believe that reading is a fundamental right, and we are committed to making literature accessible to everyone in our community.
Founded in 2010, Books at a Steal is a beloved independent bookstore that specializes in high-quality used books. Our vast selection is entirely donation based, offering incredible finds at unbeatable prices.
Recognized as the "Best Bookstore in Lee County" for two consecutive years, we are committed to creating a warm and inviting space for all book lovers. Our welcoming and cozy atmosphere provides the perfect place to browse, complete with a scenic downtown view. Families will especially enjoy out child-friendly area, which features a one-of-a-kind mural by Chris Dalton, bringing beloved literary characters to life.
Our amazing volunteer staff is dedicated to helping you “Feed Your Need to Read” at prices that are a steal. Not only do we maintain an exceptional database of our books, but we also house the largest Nonprofit selection of used books in Central NC. Through funding, Books at a Steal supports Partnership for Children and Families as they promote early childhood literacy in Lee County.
